The more the girls learn about how to be

Surfing & Ocean Safety

One on one surf instruction is implemented at our camp. Girls Wave Riding is the only surfing camp with one on one surf instruction in the water during camp. After our first years of operation we decided quality interaction and truly personalized instruction is our priority.  Our 1:1 ratio is best for girls to learn this new skill of surfing at their own pace. By maintaining this ratio, we at Girls Wave Riding believe we have cultivated the safest and most supportive environment for girls to learn the fundamentals of surfing.

Radiant Child® Yoga is integrated into the daily curriculum by certified instructors as part of our warm up and beach activity. Through yoga we enrich camper's mental and physical awareness with captivating movement, relaxation and mindfulness. Radiant Child® Yoga makes yoga fun and interactive for children of all ages. Our yoga program has become a big hit for our campers! Yoga is the perfect way to prepare for an exciting day of ocean fun and surfing.

Arts & Crafts

We love our arts and crafts corner here at Girls Wave Riding. Our art curriculum is guided by local artists and art teachers utilizing an array of supplies provided in our art bin: beads, paint, glitter, canvas, collected shells, string and more! The campers love being able to create their own artwork in between their surf sessions.

For many families, 5 consecutive days of camp just doesn't work for a busy schedule. For this reason we offer the ability to purchase a single day of camp or multiple single days to be used where space and schedule allow.

A single day of camp is also a great opportunity for the apprehensive camper to give camp a try before committing to an entire week.

Yoga circle and discussion of Girls Wave Riding safety rules for all surfers. If we are mid week we go over safety and surfing tips we learned over the last few days by asking the girls questions about what they learned the previous day(s) and favorite parts of camp and learning thus far.

The girls split into 2 or more groups to practice paddling and basic skills that have been accumulated and recently learned.

One group stays in the water with 1:1 instruction while the land group goes back to the art area for craft and snack time.

The girls continue to switch back and forth throughout the camp day! All campers get multiple one on one personalized instructed surf sessions throughout the day
